Lots of new second hand LP's

Over the last 4 days there are over 100 new second hand titles on LP that are in the store. Lots of great punk, metal and classic rock titles. Consignment Saturday & Easter Hours

Friday, Saturday and Monday will be regular store hours at Hits And Misses this holiday weekend. We will be CLOSED for Easter Sunday.
Saturday at opening (11am) there will a small new consignment of about 40 LP's and around 60 singles. That coupled with all the great new used stuff should entice you for a visit!!!!

New Winter Hours

Starting on Monday January 9th 2012 here are Hits And Misses "winter hours of operation".

Monday - Friday 12pm - 7pm
Saturday 11am - 8pm
Sunday 12pm - 6pm.

Basically Monday - Friday we will close at 7pm instead of 8pm.

Steve Ignorant at Hits and Misses Friday April 22nd:

Hits and Misses record shop is pleased to announce Steve Ignorant, legendary founding member of Crass, will drop by on Fri. April 22^nd to talk about his book, The Rest Is Propaganda. He will read excerpts from his book, and then answer any questions from the audience, and hang around afterwards to sign books and chat. I hope some of you can come down and keep him company.

Hits and Misses is located at: 799 Queen Street West

It starts at 6pm and will finish around 7PM

About ‘The Rest is Propaganda’:
The Rest Is Propaganda is not, however, the story of the Crass. Rather, it is the story of a young boy who grew up on the streets of Dagenham, wearing Tuf shoes and holey jumpers, being railroaded to a life on the factory floor. This is the story of a lad who learned about life on on the terraces of Upton Park, in the pubs and clubs of East London, behind the counter of Wallis's supermarket, and why he left that all behind. It is the story of how Stephen Williams became Steve Ignorant. And what he did after.

Bio:

Steve Ignorant (born Steve Williams in 1957) is a singer and artist. He co-founded the anarcho-punk band Crass with Penny Rimbaud in 1977. After Crass stopped performing in 1984, he has worked with other groups including Conflict, Schwartzeneggar, The Stratford Mercenaries, Current 93 (under the name Stephen Intelligent), US punk band Thought Crime, as well as being an occasional solo performer. In 2010 Ignorant announced plans to do a tour called The Last Supper, performing Crass songs from the period 1977-1982 with largely the same band that performed with him at Shepherd's Bush, including Gizz Butt, Bob Butler and Spike Smith. In August 2010 Steve and Penny Rimbaud took to the stage together to be interviewed by John Robb on the literacy stage at the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, England where they informed the large crowd that Penny has now given Steve his blessing to perform Crass material live.

In 2010 Southern Records published "The Rest Is Propaganda", Ignorant's autobiography.

The Smiths "Complete Peel Sessions" LP
The complete four studio sessions recorded between 1983 and
1986 for John Peel's BBC Radio show, this includes 15 tracks
that show a unique overview of the band's development from the
young, high-energy postpunk group from Manchester to the later
guitar pop that made them international stars: "Is It Really
So Strange," "Rusholme Ruffians," "This Charming Man," "Reel
Around the Fountain," "Back to the Old House," "How Soon is
Now," "London," "What Difference Does It Make," "Half a
Person," "Still Ill," "William, It was Really Nothing,"
"Handsome Devil," "Sweet and Tender Hooligan," "This Night Has
Opened My Eyes," and "Miserable Lie." Reportedly good
packaging, limited edition of 500.

The Vibrators "Peel Sessions 1976-1978"
Their first three sessions for John Peel's BBC radio show,
this includes "Dance to the Music," "Sweet Sweet Heart,"
"Jenny Jenny," "I'm Gonna Be Your Nazi Baby" and "We Vibrate"
from 1976, "Petrol," "Keep It Clean," "Baby Baby," "London
Girls" and "She's Bringing You Down" from 1977, and "Automatic
Lover," "Destroy," "Troops of Tomorrow" and "Fall in Love"
from 1978.

Finally, a nice vinyl LP version of this collection of all 21
tracks recorded for John Peel's BBC Radio show between 1984
and 1989, with rare versions of all their best-known songs,
